Henna

The colors of henna
On my hands
Promising of
Glorious days to come
Oh how my heart sings

The smell of henna
Sometimes strong
Sometimes mild
Took me far away
Into a fantasy land

The bond of henna
So strong
And yet so delicate
Tying with him forever
Oh see me dance

The design of henna
So intricate
And beautiful
My whole life in my hands
I kneel and pray

Henna, henna
Oh, so fragrant delicate henna

The aroma of henna wafts so delightfully from your poem, Tahera. Excellent use of the free verse form as well. Love, Carolyn

Did you ever tell me your country. I know certain countries really value colors like henna. Very interesting poem. LUv, Andrea
