Notes About The Poem

In the spirit of this season, I decided to repost this oldie but goodie. In my opinion, it's what the season is all about. Enjoy.

Help Wanted

My Imaginary Restaurant

In my restaurant, I would make
dishes that will feed the soul.

It would be a place for the young
and the old.

All are welcome. The only require-
ment is that you are part of the
human race.

On second thought there's a place
for your pets as well.

I will not turn away the poor, I have
special seat for you.

You will be treated like royalty here
and your soul will be fed.

Your seat will be adjacent to the
rich. Everyone gets treated the
same here.

Help wanted, I'm looking for like
minded people who don't mind
working in a place such as this.

I can't pay you for your services.
Hopefully, you will be satisfied with "
your act of kindness" as your
pay.

I got to go now, I have to make a big pot
of "love".

Dear Alexis, your open-heart shines for all to see in this splendid poem just perfect for the Holiday season. The art of selflessness and the act of giving is beautifully expressed in this inspiring piece. I just adore your last line for a grand finale. Warmest wishes for a merry Christmas, my friend.. ~Susan

Good one. If only we could issue out kindness. Thanks for the visits to my page. I had an uncle and aunt that ran a restaurant in a coastal city of Georgia back a very long time ago. I remember my father saying that his brother told him to come down there and he would be able to find a job very easily and could live with them for a few weeks until he could get established. Daddy said he got down there and they were feeding the poor and very little paying business. I always wondered about it. SK

A lovely place to dine. I certainly would like to work for you, but at my age I am to decrepit to carry the serving dishes! Yes, a good repost!
