Help Me Get Elected
Help Me Get Elected
By Elton Camp
Ron was a member of the fifty-three percent
But it was belly-up that his company went
“I have to fire people,” the new owner said
“So that this firm won’t operate in the red.”
It was into his IRA Ron was forced to dip
Now he mows yards & gives burgers a flip
Although he works days and half the night
He doesn’t owe any income tax--not quite
Is he a moocher who just barely ekes by
One who could do better if he’d just try?
So it was to Ron’s extreme irritation
A robocall asked him for a donation
“I don’t care a bit about folks like you,
But ask your vote & contribution, too.”
“That guy who is in there now is a scamp
What you should do is come into my camp.”
This arrogant call Ron absolutely does hate
Though he is only a lowly ward of the state
