Hello January

Hello January, you’ve finally arrived
Another year we have all survived.
Tell me please, if you can
What will be? - How should I plan?

Do you see more of the status quo?
Will more freedom we soon know?
Will our economy settle down?
Will there be reason to wear a frown?

If only these things and much, much more
We could from you successfully implore!
If we could in the future see
What would be our destiny?

I sit here in my solitude
And wonder if you’ll ever my thoughts intrude.
I anxiously hope that I’ll not long wait
Before my concerns you’ll contemplate!
