Hello Is Harder To Say Than Goodbye

People come and go so I don't get attached
If you leave, make sure you're ready to go for good because I won't let you come back
If you'd had people leave like I have, you'd understand why
I find it harder to say Hello than to say goodbye

I struggle to let new people in, I fear getting close
I let my skeletons out the closet to share my ghosts
Head and heart are speaking, so I make sure to hear them both
But I already know you don't always need to repair what's broke

If people can hurt you once, they can hurt you twice
Saying sorry doesn't automatically make things right
I value words, but I trust actions
Maybe I'm wrong because I wear my scars like it's a fashion

But I never make a promise I can't keep
When I say I'll be there, I won't leave
But not many other people, Stick to these rules
That's why I refuse to trust anyone else, as it usually makes you look like a fool

People come and go so I don't get attached
If you leave, make sure you're ready to go for good because I won't let you come back
If you'd had people leave like I have, you'd understand why
I find it harder to say Hello than to say goodbye
