Hello

Hello

Echo?
  Hello!

Alone, in my room, with no one around.
My loved ones have left, and my wife's out of town.
All that I have, is time and my thoughts,
a computer, a sandwich, and some milk that I bought.

I read from a long list, some poems and rhythms,
so many talented writers who repeat what I am doing nearly the same time.
All typing, thinking, and posting their creations,
they periodically check as I do, our inboxes for comments of elations.

But, no echo.
  and no hello.
No one seems to care.
We seek no posthumous accolades... but did you read it!? Please, share.

I suppose I am guilty.
I am as selfish as the rest.
I spend more time writing...
  then reading I guess.

So, why should I bother to write this poem, already too long...
when there are so many, more talented than I, to read... and respond...

Echo?
  Hello!
I think I'll stop typing, now... and read... and respond.

Been there, done that! I imagine that we all have, Martin. But I'm glad you "bothered" to write this piece.

Martin, I know that feeling, when you try to write something you think is self-expressive and meaningful to others but after you finish writing and posting it nobody responds. You wonder if (1) nobody saw it or (2) was it THAT bad? Welcome to my world but keep on writing my friend!
