Held My Hand

God has held my hand through it all Even when I was too caught up to hear his call Following the ways of society The whole time the devil was inside of me Demons trying to confide me My family so ashamed they tried to hide me But when the towel was in God came to hold my hand He dried my tears Scared my fears Brought me cheer Open my ears so I could hear His powerful word He slowed me down so I can learn Showed me how my soul would burn If I didn't take that turn in to his embrace But still I lied to his face Said I would change My life would be rearranged If he protected me from all this pain But like a drug I was addicted Didn't worship him so I didn't feel convicted But all it took was a minute Before my mind was being evicted By Demons Who where supplying the sentence Of a life in fire by my own convictions I screamed out loud for an end Still GOD returned to hold my hand He said of him I am He is the soul creater of man There's no one who can Do what he has done His enemy's coward and run Live in his word And on that day when the horns play He'll hold my hand for the rest of eternity
