Hegalandia Island

Near Hegalandia island there is the drawing of a sea serpent
She is as large as a clipper ship, and twice as fierce in a coil
Is this an actual sea serpent or something worse? I ask the captain
His answer is vague, for he has not yet been to this part of the world

I have never been daring enough to venture that close, he told me
Due to the drawing, and the warning of my great-great-grandmother
She was the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter
Terrified of Hegalandia Island, warning me since childhood not to go.

Will you ever venture that direction? I asked him.
He was a fierce looking man, a pirate with a forehead spider tattoo.
“No, lass,” he told me. “I have had nightmares about it. I will never.”
In involuntary shiver told me, his feelings were valid.
