Heels

Fumbling for my keys
I just want to go inside
It’s colder now, it’s raining and it’s dark
Forgot to feed the kitty
I’m so unattentive…shame on me

I sit at the window
Watching the rain fall, hearing the splash across the panes
It’s a cold, humid night
I’ll open the screen

I hear your heels click
Coming down the street
Just around the corner
Someone I don’t know is giving a light

Waiting for you to see me
In the rain

I can’t wait

Boots in the rain, clicking heels
My windows sigh as I wait for you
My dreams are only for tonight
Maybe or for all time?

For you they are such a real sight in my mind
You are under my skin
I’m so blind

Your heels click in my mind
Now light me up inside
Justify my peace
In my peace of life

Misty in my window
I should imagine from the outside
Drops that trickle from a slicker
Running down into the street, how are we supposed to meet?

Clicking of your boots in the street
Go up the stairs, ring the bell and see me
At the window with tears in my eyes
I can see you through the salty cries

Locking the door behind me
My seat from the window fades
You kick off your boots, the clicking fades
Rain has turned to all things that I pray

Everything is right
