Heavy Is the Air of September Morns

on the downcast
of cobalt
no rain can fall
from cloudless mind

i sit here
on the edge
of morn
lingering
in this chilled air

a september breath
weighs heavy
as it bends
tips of flowers
downward
their petals
stroking
the pools
of yesterday's rains

my lips tasted
those rains
as i remembered
you in passing
within fragments
of mind
that too bend
beneath september's breath
where this air is heavy
and the kisses cold
much like death

A bit melancholy poem--it does carry your voice to evoke the feelings you want to communicate, Sandy.

I can feel the weight that is falling through this wonderful poem. It leaves an empty space in my heart. Seasons change but it seems that some sad memories that come with those seasons don't. Another wonderful poem Sandy.

the skies are so blue and cloudless here, i wanted to start out with a happy poem but i suppose those thoughts are still in my mind, it rained heavy here yesterday so today's air was very heavy...i had to wipe down most my bus windows today before i could even pull it out of its resting spot
