Heavy Days
stress feels like a weight on my chest
like something pressing down on my lungs
and anxiety whispers worst-case scenarios
into every quiet moment
sleep doesn’t come easy anymore
it breaks apart in the middle of the night
leaving me staring at the ceiling
counting worries instead of sheep
my mind runs in circles
overthinking every word, every action
every possible thing that could go wrong
until my head feels too loud to exist in
some days i smile and pretend i’m fine
say “i’m okay” like it’s automatic
while inside my heart is shaking
and my hands feel cold with fear
but i keep breathing
even when it feels tight and uneven
keep moving forward
even when anxiety tries to hold me still
because surviving days like these
takes more strength than anyone sees
