Heaving Halo
shimmering shafts of thin shivering light
streak through and softly shred behind me
the whole length of my lengthening shadow,
as I face the breath-taking, blood-red horizon
of the darkening dusk, and as I gaze grateful
at the heaving halo of the sleepy, sunken sun.
