Heavenly Ride

I love to ride in morning breeze
On paths surrounding forest trees
To share the scent of pine fresh air
Where fine mist lingers in my hair.

My steed is white with soft gray nose
We gallop on through drifting snows,
As snow drops settle soft and light
To make our morning spirit bright.

We stop to rest near mountain crest
And view an eagle's flight to nest
High above in a lofty pine,
To dwell in nature quite divine.

I lift my eyes into the skies
While bathed in colors of sunrise,
And watch how sun beams, fleeting flees,
My horse and I amidst the trees.

I enjoyed the heavenly ride, Connie. There is a certain gait to your lines that seems to echo the sound of a horse riding through nature's bounty. I loved the pause to watch the eagle rise to its nest. This is such a divine write, and another fave for me from your gifted pen. Blessings ~ John

Thank you very much John. I used to love to ride. My last ride was four years ago on my birthday with my daughters. There are not that many places to ride here in Hawaii. I am honored by your fave. Blessings xxoo

Thank you very much Paul. My last ride was four years ago. There are not too many places to ride here on our island of Oahu. I have ridden since I was about 12. I miss the freedom felt from riding. blessings xxoo

What a beautiful enchanting heavenly poem this is, Connie! I wonder if I could hitch a ride on that steed of yours! Also, what a coincidence....the advert showing right beneath the poem is from the game "Star Stable"...a rider on a galloping horse! (Took screen shot of it). Definitely a worthy contest winner:) ~ Warm regards // paul

One will surely miss this breathtaking ride to the abundance of stunning surroundings and perhaps more exciting to capture the scenarios as you adjust according to your favorite horse's stride. A very pleasant to read, Connie. (^_^)

Hello Connie … there is something very magical between humans and horses. The horse. like dogs, can be very devotional. To be riding through a forest on a crisp morning must be so refreshing for the both of you - thank you once again Connie - Lindsay

Even as a small child, I loved to see women galloping bareback on their horse, so it is refreshing to see a woman's perspective! Nicely done! So refreshing during the current pandemic! Aloha! Rico

I have ridden bareback and I see why the native Americans preferred riding without a saddle. Thank you very much Rico. Poetry helps to soothe the soul in these troubled times. Have a great week Mahalo and Aloha xxoo
