Heaven Sent

Today I heard a blackbird
Singing his song before dawn
His heartfelt song
Went on and on 
Like an anthem 
Almost a shout 
As he sang his message out
As if proclaiming 
a momentous event
One that would change the world
For today is Christmas day
And sweet blackbird 
You were truly heaven sent

I believe all birds are heaven sent. I have cardinals - up to nine at a time, and I know the angels had a hand in their appearance.

I have not heard of cardinals, so googled them and wow their colour is so vivid it must be such a treat when they come to visit. Nature can truly take our breath away in this beautiful world of ours. If only folks opened their eyes and let it in, instead of staring at some hand held device, never lifting up their heads!? They are missing so much. With kindest thoughts Ann xx
