Heath

Back feet splayed.
He lowers himself.

I know he is in pain.
But he raises his grey muzzle

And looks me in the eyes
And I know he knows I am the same.

He comes for comfort and I
Put both hands on the sides of his face

And know I can infuse the love and memories
of all the good years we have had.

I believe the touch has some magic.
Heath is resting now and tomorrow is another day

For both of us.

I love the rhythm and rhyme of Richard's work. The words do paint a beautiful picture. Great visualization. Thank you for sharing your work.
