Heat of the Day
The stillness hangs over the air
Not a leaf moves
The grass stands still
The heat of the day is stifling
A drop of sweat rolls down my check
My flowers all bend their heads
The garden all thirsty
The heat of the day has touched every living thing
I am thankful for the cool water I can drink
