Hearts Still Sing

At this bleak time of year the earth mostly dismal appears Bright sunshine hidden away gray clouds cover ephemeral days Green grass replaced by hard ground colors mute as silence to sound... Yet a holdout, one stubborn vine a rose attached, red as wine Reassures me that hearts can still sing as Winter winds lovers' faces do sting

At my house it is a pink geranium but same thing "Yet a holdout, one stubborn vine a rose attached, red as wine" - I cannot believe she still looks fresh and new!

Love the way you use the winter rose as a metaphor of hope. Simply beautiful.

At this time of year the ground should be covered with snow but so far just cold, shivery frosty mist comes down and it's pretty miserable out there. Love this Gershon. It speaks of how the positive heart can find something to sing about in the most trying times. Good Stuff. God Bless, JB

No snow yet, even in Canda?! Wow! Nothing on the ground in Chicago, either. I'm fine with that, as snow and ice are tough on this gator. At any rate, have a blessed Sunday, Judy. :) gw

Hey, Mike. Thanks for the encouragement on this one. My romantic side needed to be let out of confinement yesterday. It's serving a 7 - 21 years for willful neglect. Smiles, gw

Hello Gershon ... spring has been a freezing disaster this year and just now, a third of the country is flooded, yet it's great to see so much colour and greenery. Thank God for global warming (if it ever gets warm) - thanks Gershon - Lindsay

Global warming's fine with me too, Lindsay, esp. if it means less snow and ice in Chicago! ~ Palm Trees and Coconuts
