Hearts Gentle Eyes Mindful

I sit like a tranquil river, Trying hard not to wear my heart on my sleeves, Though they’re acting innocent, I could see through the veil. Words spoken behind me, They seem to filter into my ears, Acts spun at night, They seem to be lighted at dawn. As they pass by, Their guilt is mirrored, I could feel their dark energies, There’s an overcast of conspiracy. Mystery eyes tunnel my way, Sinister minds trail my path, I hide behind the Great Wall, They stretch their hands to reach me. Though I stand aloof from the spotlight, I’m still know of them, Does dawn herald me as I go through its door? Am I being revealed to myself? As I walk towards redemption, I’m glad some people stand by me, Though I’m still mindful, For even the most rigid ladder can give up its hold. May 27, 2024.
