Heartfelt Prayers

Heartfelt Prayers
Dedicated to my dear friend Caleb

He sits inside his room and starts to pray
Reflecting on what they all say
Feeling so lost and alone
Love never to call his own 

She walks the halls of this nightmare
Crying from this unanswered prayer
Why won’t they see her
Why won’t they ever care

God 
Where are you now
God
I’m lost within these vows 
Through all these years
I’ve cried so many tears
Losing all hope
Just trying to cope 
Waiting through these unanswered prayers
God I need to know if you were ever there 

Sitting on the apartment floor
He can’t take this any more
He brings the shotgun to his head
Wishing he was dead

Giving herself away
She lost the light of day
She needs someone to be there
She needs someone to care

God 
Where are you now
God
I’m lost within these vows 
Through all these years
I’ve cried so many tears
Losing all hope
Just trying to cope 
Waiting through these unanswered prayers
God I need to know if you were ever there

Jesus we pray
That you show us the way
We tried to live life alone
We’re just left with skin and bones
Let us know that you are there
Please hear are prayer

We all hurt and bleed
Love is what we need
But friends please believe
God wears his heart on his sleeve
If we are truly willing to hope and believe
He will meet our every need

God

With his heartfelt prayer
God meets him there
He says stand up and believe
You are finally freed 

Through her cut wrists and tears
Lost within her fears
God meets her there
He answers her prayers
With open arms
