Heartbroken in His Shadow

I loved him
I loved him with my whole soul
I loved him
I loved him until he became my blackhole

He took and he took
He took the color from my cheek
He took the light from my eye
He took my life until I became weak

He took the color from my world
He took the sun from my sky
He took the smile from my face
And the laugh he replaced with a sigh

But I knew he was good
So I gave and I gave
I thought 'it's okay, maybe one day
He will see the pain and that I am not his slave'

But that's all that happened
He took and I gave
I hoped but as a fool
Until it was him or my grave
