Heartbreaking News

A family of whales swam on the beach. Tasmanians watched twenty-two soon die. Beside the waters sperm whales found their grave. How did they find their death, oh, gloomy day? Some people saw four swim upon the sand. Few lives were saved; those left must now be sad. Two mammals swim deep waters, more alone. © November 14, 2011 Dane Ann Smith-Johnsen

Are u a Floridian. Dane Ann? There is another poet that I enjoy reading and this Heartbreaking News poem reminded me of her a little....maybe u know her...Carolyn D. LOL.....she loves to write about the aquatic life and the care of our environment too...Aren't these sperm whales the largest living mammals? I am no marine biologist..just curious. Anytime something as precious as a whale is lost it is heartbreaking...much enjoyed this write. Gwendolen

LOL Yes! But the whales were in Tazmania, I think. They ended up loosing over 60 in one day. Horrible.
