Heartbreak In Seattle

She hides behind her smudged onyx eye liner, Lifting her fading, azure eyes off the paper every so often to glance at his picture. How she missed him so...constantly thinking of him, but relying on the photo to brand his face in her memories. Her journal becoming the closest thing to comfort. Drowning herself in the pages, ink blotches on her hands. She carelessly jotted down his name... she must have done so 1,000 times before. Not realizing what she was doing she gazed at the paper going deeper into thought. Summer days fade to summer nights as her heart silently whispers his name to the wind. The syllables slipping from her tongue like second nature. The stars lit in scattered confusion as the search for a distant constellation piques her interest. Her mind drawn away for the mere moment only to be lured in again as the stars roughly outline his face. A tear brought to her eye with the reflection of the moon shining dimmer than usual, or so it seemed. Her silhouette standing in the afterglow , as she dots-and-lines a few more thoughts in the binding of paper. Someday soon their paths will collide again. Filling the air with friendly hellos and hushed confession of love. But until that moment is placed before her she sinks into the paper pad, losing herself between the letters of his name.
