Heartbeat

Heartbeat

I'm holding my breath.
Catching what's left.
Giving you the rest.
Looking at you leaves me breathless.

I'm holding my own
Before my heart is overthrown.
Wishing there was a chance.
Remembering what makes a man.
I'm a mess
when your presence leaves me breathless.

Do you know how that feels?
Does it matter to you?
Can you hear the heartbeat I let you steal?

I'm holding my breath.
Catching what's left.
Giving you the rest.
Looking at you leaves me breathless.
