Heartache

Heartache has left me here
With no right way to turn
It consumed me whole and left my soul
To sit here, crash, and burn

It cared less about my feelings
And more about its’ pride
When confronted to its’ intentions
It did nothing but simply hide

It managed to show up
At all the inappropriate scenes
Just when I’m moving on
Here comes heartache; it intervenes

Heartache shows no mercy
It doesn’t want to know my name
I’ll never cause it grief
Never introduce it to shame

The secret to conquer its overlay
The only way to overcome heartache
Is to allow myself to open up
And be susceptible to another break

If it finds I can prevail
I open up, let others in
Then heartache says goodbye
And my real life can begin
