Heart Wall

Muddy, cold
dark waters raise
inside
me. While I
try to
keep them hidden
within, they
somehow
spill through your
haunted
eyes and come
back to gag
me into
inaction.

Muddy, cold
dark waters raise
inside
you. While you
try to
keep them stealth
within, they
somehow
rattle out of my
quivering
voice and come
back to choke
you into
silence.

Muddy, cold
dark waters raise
inside
us. While we
try to
keep them concealed
inside us, they
somehow
start unraveling
everything around
us in resonance.

The levees
are coming
down on us, let
us enjoy
rumbling into
one another.
