Heart Unfolding
After years of silence behind shaded eyes
Shallow caresses imbedded with careless lies
Brittle laughter condemns the tears
There's a heart unfolding here.
There's nowhere to go that I can't follow
Who do you think absorbed the pain?
Not buried within your sorrow
So easy to hide, perfected in the shadow years
But there's a heart unfolding here.
Follow the twisted cord to the embryonic core
With a final breath, there's no corners beyond open doors
Feel the heat of a survivors tears
Washed clean, cradled in defeated fears
Yes... there's a heart unfolding here.
Once standing still, a solemn guard
Beyond the wall lies Eden's yard
Sheltered beneath battered wings
Sacrificial angels hover near.
Hold...Release
There's a heart unfolding here.
