Heart of Ice

I ward my heart with walls of ice
Erected to protect the wounds
Guarded fiercely with bitter cold
But a warm touch will melt the gates
And flowers will once more bloom

Well said. I like the idea there is always a chance for a warm touch to melt the ice.
