Heart of Glass

My heart is a fragile glass
Crafted from the purest sand,
Elegantly designed
By God's majestic hand.

Transparent as crystal,
Reflecting rays of light,
This gentle heart of glass
Radiates both love and delight.

But we dwell in a world
Consumed by darkness and hate
Whose only goal
Is to make love dissipate.

This vulnerable heart
To some does not matter.
Others only seek
To see this glass heart shatter...

Poets, I believe, naturally have a heart of glass; we are sensitive people and this leaves us open to hurt. Like this a lot.
