Heart Bowed

My heart is bowed
             in suffering,
        And all around me
            seems dark,
     My understanding fails
           my situation,
       And God seems so
              far away.

       The promises of God
           seem unfulfilled,
          And within me the
          seeds germinate,
 Beclouding my avowed sonship
               with doubts,
      Over my relationship with
             heavenly Father.

       Efforts in dutiful praying
             failed abysmally,
    Attempts on singing praises
                  hit rocks,
     Landing me full plumb
              in a strait,
      As thoughts my mind
         severely assault.

        Then I heard Him
               say to me,
My grace is sufficient for you.
       Cast your mind on me
           letting His peace ,
          rule your heart and
          His love your mind.
