Heart Beats
Pumping blood to my cells
producing oxygen so I can breath
Beating a mile a minute
when fear grips me
Sometimes I think about
the beating and I wonder
if maybe one day I will
hear my heart stop
If I was there to witness
the very last beat
what would I be thinking
at the exact moment
I became extinct
Sometimes in my darkest moods
I wish it could happen sooner
