Heart and Soul

What was there, could not be
You never told me
your love for me was true
My heart does not know you.

What you want will not occur
My feelings for you will not stir
You want to become as one
My heart and your soul stay undone

We are separate we do not fold
I will not bind with you, for I cannot hold
I believe that you really do care
but my heart is lonely, no room to share.

My heart was one then broke in two
The walls were torn and I bled through
I’ve yet to heal and the scars do show
But uniting with you would be another blow.

Once I had an arrow that pierced my heart
Cupid’s arrow wounded but desire came apart
I was lovelorn, my heart seized and broke
His love untrue, his soul hidden under his cloak
