Hearing a Heavenly Tune

A melody heard in an ethereal way paraded through her composer’s mind She listened in awe, aware of its beauty Who would believe it? Could she replicate it? Determined to try, she picked up her pen. Who sent it? Her angels? Power animals? Spirit guides? The tune was heavenly. Surely it had been developed there first. She felt guilty taking the credit.

Oh, one of her muses gave it to her. She shouldn't feel guilty. I have the ability to make up melodies on the piano. Sometimes people like them and ask me to repeat them, but I can't. I seldom remember how they went. I used to make up preludes and someone would say, Play the one you did a few Sundays ago. Sorry! I just made it up as I went.

The problem is, I read music and play by note and by ear, but I can't write music. I have no idea how to do the notation, etc.

I understand which is why I write things down- they are fleeting thoughts and ideas to me
