Hear me, friend
Friend, you think you’ve fallen
into the bowels of an endless abyss.
Trust that it will not be infinitely dark
and you will find a way to survive this.
Live through every moment of your grief as you must.
It will somehow make you stronger.
This is a test you must complete:
no instructions, no shortcuts, no quick fixes.
You’re stronger than you think because
you’ll be there for those who count on you.
You’ll find the strength to step up to the plate
and know the right things to do.
There’s a give and take to life,
a time when you must be ready to let go.
Weave your sorrow into the fabric of your days.
Courage is the cape you wear for invincibility.
