Heap of Sand

Tall I stand like a mountain or stalagmite growing out of the earth,I can be soft or coarse, tasteless or salty;rough but smooth surfaces;school children play on me and with me;I`m amiable.Trend upon by beach lovers and rest upon by picnickers, Sandwiched between cement and gravel,I contribute to raising of skyscrapers ; married to steel I form pillars, Also known as Silica or quartz glass loved by scientists,as I act as shock and heat absorbers and in controlling frequency of trans- mitters;Linguists can`t do without me..and..&..&..soldiers of war.&.. I share name with birds,humans..&..hurricane; Being blown by strong winds in arid lands,I cause cornea, iris &respiratory problems, which make dwellers wear shoes with rubber soles and goggles made from Me-optical lenses.I`m dynamic, lovely and gracious;I am SAND!You need me in your life. Olusegun, we were once seen off to Kaduna by your namesake Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo and we passed through Abeokuta and saw the Juju Rock on River Niger and on to the sandy harmattan hit Kaduna City. I could not go on to Kano. Reminds me...
