Healing Is Messy
Healing is messy, it’s not linear
Sometimes things in your mind are not always clear
One day you’re great and everything makes sense
The next day you’re drowning and the feelings become too intense
Emotional healing isn’t like a physical wound you see
Sometimes it just appears when you thought you was free
Maybe a trigger , a word, an action ,or circumstance
Can 180 your actions and change your stance
Healing is messy, it’s not as black and white
But you’ve got to have faith that everything will be alright
You’ve got to remember why you need to heal
Sometimes what we deserve is greater than how we feel
You’ve got to accept that the past needs to lie
No matter how much that may hurt and make you cry
Sometimes the things we hold onto aren’t worth the pain
But it takes a while for the heart to catch up to the brain
Healing is messy but then again so is life
Full of beauty , yet full of strife
Healing is messy and it’s okay if right now it doesn't make sense
Just remember how far you’ve come from the past to the present tense
