Healing

So much time has now passed since that fateful day
So far back in my past but yet it won't go away
So many years of pain all containing such a deep sadness
Seemingly never to wane and turning me into something less

I could not fight it not even for one day
Being so short sighted I quickly lost my way
A fight I couldn't win a battle I continually lost
Oh what a sin when your life gets tossed

But that was then and this is now
And I will never again throw in that towel
I cradled my heart and reasoned with my mind
For they play such a big part in the answers we find

But the healing only came when the soul got involved
For Jesus took that pain and my problem was solved
For He healed my spirit as He comforted my soul
And if you endear it (Jesus) He will also pay your toll
