Healing

Healing
You do not heal by sealing your storms in glass bottles and shelving them in the dark. You do not heal by pretending the waves never rose, by calling numbness peace. Forgetting is not healing. Silence is not strength. Healing asks for something harder. It asks you to sit with the wreckage - the sharp edges of your own mistakes, the bruises left by theirs, the words that tangled into misunderstandings, the goodbyes that arrived without language. It asks you to stand still while memory floods the room. To let it engulf you. To let it pull you under until you learn how to breathe beneath the weight. You must feel it all - the regret that burns, the guilt that lingers, the frustration that claws, the hurt that hums quietly at 2 a.m. And also the love. The softness. The care that once wrapped around your ribs like it would never leave. You cannot throw your memories into the sea and expect them not to return with the tide. Healing is not exile. It is invitation. You let it in. You let it ache. You let it undo you so it no longer owns you. Some wounds will never disappear. Some guilt will always whisper your name. Some regret will sit beside you in silence. But they will not crush you if you have already survived their weight once. Feel it. All of it. And one day you will notice- the memories still exist, but they no longer control the room. That is when you are free. That is when you have healed.
