Healer

HEALER Sugar, coffee and cream! She started his day by bathing his face in a loving embrace like a golden sun on the rolling meadow at the edge of the forest which harbored a secret that enclosed their lives Elusive as the wind, silent as snow, he sat by the window, a predator at rest whose dangerous emotions shone through his eyes like the stare of the wolves who appeared in this land like shadows and mist, stalking a kill at the edge of these words Honey and ivory, she had offered herself as a center of refuge, a spiritual hope, a sensual calm in the cascading chaos of long brown hair, and the songs that she sang melted from ice, bubbled out of the highlands, fell through the gorges, splashed over green fields and nourished his heart ‘til he began to believe that the world was better than the conflict he’d seen This passionate healer, singer of songs, wilderness woman and wife, she knew that sunlight at breakfast altered the shadow that came with the night, revealing the corners and edges of darkness as the gentle geometry of cautious concealment for the relentless hunter who slept in her bed then ran the ridges and ravines of her days like a wild idea, feral and hungry, sustaining itself in the fertile territory of intense unconditional love
