Heal

Heal

The story starts
And I am sitting near the reef.
Quaint, nominal
With no grief.
There you came,
Silent, like a thief.
Flabbergasted when you said
That you’ll heal.
Marking your words
I felt relief.
Absorbing your empathy
I felt lithe
Lifted me up
When I had a broken heel
Refurbish my conscience,
But, it was a short term deal.
Filled with hostility was
Your Nadir, your zenith
Construe like a contusion
Is my skin, I feel.
You didn’t cure
You didn’t heal
You hindered the wounds
Hidden in my soul beneath
The story ends
When you leave
I became furtive and
You, the secret I conceal.
(Or everything I just revealed)
~Apoorva.
