Lilacs in bloom, heady bouquet,

for just a short time with us they stay.

Gone as quickly as the month of May.

So enjoy them before they fade away.

They are one of my favorite flowers, Francine, and I hate to see them leave as summer approaches. As a teen I always wore Lilac perfume from Avon. A few years after high school graduation, I ran into my old boyfriend and he commented that I was still wearing the same perfume. Your poem is beautiful and I wish you success in Brian's contest.
