He Was Mine Till Fate

He stood in front of the mic resembling Zeus Such a gift of gab, I caught my breath Who knew that one day I'd have to choose A decision creeping against my will like death He was mine for a few seasons in the sun joy and laughter was our daily bread Love hidden like bullets in a gun The sweetest sin, forbidden yet ever so grand Seasons ceased and i had to let him go Not what i desired but fate forced my hand Watching him walk down the aisle was a blow Pain washing over me like waves on sand I will always love him with every heartbeat In my heart he was mine right from the start Though he ran into Luck and lost his feet He was indeed mine till fate do us part
