He Shed His Last Drop For Me
He shed the Last Drop For Me
When the story is finely written
And the speckled bird, about to fly
When the counter has made his final count
And the Spirit has tried his last try
When the book is about to close
And the pleader issued his final plea
And the curtain is set to drop
He shed his last drop for me
When heaven’s doors are opened
And the trumpet is near to sound
And that which was from the beginning
Shepards his sheep from lost to found
He who lingers in the shadows
Opens the eyes, that all might see
And though I fail him in the flesh
He shed his last drop for me
The Book’s pages are almost full
And this life will be no more
And each name is recorded
And the tally reveals the score
for the wine cup is nearly full
and the bread is under the lee
The redeemed are cleansed by his blood
And he shed his last drop for me
