He Said, She Said

A can of worms has opened up
And so much slithered out
That every accusation now
Contains a seed of doubt.

A leer, a touch, a grope, a rape,
All met with a denial,
Including those kept secret for
Much longer than a while.

The lawyers pounce; the tabloids print
The sordid tales, supposing
That those in power had much more
Than egos for exposing.

And so we listen as each day
The accusations mount
Which soon enough will be much more
Than we can even count.

All these years both have been silent. One in fear, one to prevent. The light of day is now revealing. What's kept one gender under the glass ceiling.

Very well written as usual. I wondered when someone would tackle this "New" thing that is happening. Unfortunately after so many it starts sounding like a bandwagon sort of thing. An unpopular sentiment I suppose, but oh well.....great write though!!.......Pat

Yep, that is how it goes. I love the way you tell these tales with such precise meter, Ilene.

At last! Perverse power exposed. Hopefully it will put an end to that peculiar pestilence Ilene. Well said.

So right, dear. I've been following these stories. what is done in secret is not being revealed. It hurts when you see people you thought were amazing being exposed...

What a sad world we live in for so many reasons Ilene:-( Sadly the names get into the press and they are dragged through the mud and get trial through the media before its even been to court. I try to stay away from reading the press:-(hugs Jan xx
