He Needs
He isn't dead.
He has a beat, can you not see him standing on his feet.
He isn't waiting to be cast into a label in your head.
He hasn't lived for you to tell your friends
how to run his memory through the hurt of what you said.
He isn't strong enough to lift his head
in shame of which he hasn't even met.
Any yet he breathes and feeds and walks alone.
He's not an old stone, buried in a stately home.
He only needs a friend to share the moments
in all the ways that keep him sane.
So if you can reframe, from the judgement of his way
He will welcome you into his world and give you
Something you want to hold.
