Bayard Rustin, the man behind the March on Washington, was one of the most   consequential architects of the civil rights movement. Rustin imagined how nonviolent civil   resistance could be used to dismantle segregation in the United States. He organized   around the idea for years and eventually introduced it to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. But his   identity as a gay man made him a target.

He may have found the end, but it got lost again. An insightful poem, Anaya. I sometimes wish a black indelible rain would fall and die every man woman and child's skin black forever. Instant end to racism. Your poem inspires food for thought. Thanks. Well done.

Reading this poem, I feel the frustration of racism. We can't seem to get rid of it. Blessings.

A double whammy Anaya, being black and openly gay back in the 60s was an extremely dangerous combination, he was lucky to have make it through, you did well to get your dream message across with such a very difficult form, all the best for contest, cheers David

Hey David, my friend we can only imagine what they went through at that time, with little change and information we're still digging for answers. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! xhugs

What a meaningful and powerful minichu this is! And your chosen rhymes and flow of words here is so beautiful! And creative! Racism something we still see in so many places. Sadly to be united will remain a dream, that we hope would someday come true! Always a pleasure reading you! Sending you light always

Yeap i can imagine especially back in the day it would have been worse for him, as i help so many suicidal teenagers that are transgender etc. so i know their pain personally. And i wish this world will be a kinder place for all.

Thank you, Ink Empress, you're a god send and a goddess of words! Your light here is always welcome! I have made this message about two things of importance the man behind King was his muse as well as gay...therefore Martin Luther King Jr took Rustin's idea and made it possible, how ironic he would be a target anyway! Xhugs Anaya
