He Gave Her a Book
It has been staying with us under the same roof
In the down rack of the wardrobe, lying aloof
Unnoticed even by granny and quite obscure
But with due prominence, kept with proper secure
One day, I wanted to remove the damaged ones.
Among the huge piles of tattered books weighing tons,
An untitled spiral book caught my attention.
I pulled it from the heap but with no intention.
Slowly I read a few lines from the crumpled pages.
Matured thoughts with marvelous poetic phrases
Those poems were written by my late grandfather,
Unfolding his infinite love to grandmother
Ameliorated the dog eared pages discreetly,
Named it ‘My Nostalgic Memories’ and neatly
Enveloped in a silver foiled attractive case,
My best gift ever, given to granny with grace.
