He and She

Goes with someone but leaves alone, he lives in denial but hopes for a sweet alright, dreams have stopped he burns the midnight oil, afraid to sleep consciously he chases the dawn, he smiles and hides, slides his hand collects his bite and leaves everything behind. She is thankful she is wise, pretends to be nice sometimes her smile suffices otherwise swings on an extended olive branch to make amends on her side, the glint in her eyes staring at the fork in the road she chooses to walk alone in broad daylight, leaves a message, all good in hindsight.
