Have I Got a Deal For You
Have I Got a Deal for You
By Elton Camp
On my way from parking lot to store
There was a man I’d never seen before
Wearing dark glasses and a checked coat
He beckoned to me with a demanding note
His jacket he held open so I see stuff inside
“Come over. Have I got you a deal,” he cried
“I owned a jewelry store, but it was shut down.
On the remaining stock is the best price found.”
It was several shiny things that he wished sold
“Why each of these items is real 24-carat gold.
And all of these great gems that you can see,
That they are flawless diamonds I guarantee.”
The costs he quoted were so incredibly low
So I decided that with him was the way to go
I bought a gold ring, the finest I’d ever seen,
But after just a week it turned my finger green
