Haunting Night
Screaming at piercing eyes haunting each night
Tortured soul laments, grimacing in pain
While canine pet wildly howls amidst fright
Plaguing serene home with nervousness’ strain…
Drawn to door, ushered toward hellish pit
Shocked heart struggles against darkness’ embrace
As kitten’s frame glows, showing lion’s grit
Engulfing house with shrieks of grievous chase…
Horrified by ceaseless tormenting wail
Anxious mind seeks peace from chaotic spree
Since ghost whispers persistently assail
Inviting bats, now swarming, flying free…
Turning on lights, scampering spirit shouts
“Oh, Lord, I’m so afraid; help* me, my God”
Shutting screen, "I confess need for faith routes
Why scare myself when I have prayer rod.”
*Isaiah 41:13 - For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
