Haunted Ocean

Haunted Old Ocean; Specters swim throughout the sea; For many a good ship has, Met its final doom; Within the tempestuous, Waters and cannot move on. On stormy nights you May see a ghostly visage; A ship that no longer sails. Know that beneath lay, One in its watery tomb; It’s calling to warn…”Danger”! Its last memory Before fate let the waters, Collect another victim.

Hello MLK, A "haunted ocean" -- eh?? A wondrous description here for sure. A journey I should not like to undertake. Excellent Verse!! Best Always, Gary

Yes, they keep building cruise ships bigger and heavier and although that weight floats...under the right circumstances it may cease to do so. Thanks again, Gary.

And M.L., this poem is a reminder of why I will never be on a ship - cruise or otherwise. I saw the Titanic, and decided "never" and now this seals it.

That's kind of the way I feel, despite having been on a speed boat and a my cousin's little boat before. I've no fears with the smaller boats but, I don't trust the big ones. Actually it's the companies that build them that I don't trust...there's just too much weight to sink with me on it. Thanks for reading and commenting again.

You know, I love the ocean; have been out on my cousin's boat but, I doubt that I could ever bring myself to take a cruise. This was inspired by some photos of the, "Titanic", that I was recently viewing. Being so close to Halloween, I just thought it might make a decent poem. Thanks for dropping by again.
